Kappa Delta Shamrock 5K Run

On Saturday, September 26, 2009 Kappa Delta will be hosting the Shamrock 5K at the University of Rochester. Sisters will be volunteering while members from the community, as well as our college, run the race! We would like to extend an invitation to any troops interested in helping us volunteer (cheering runners, handing out drinks, etc.), during which time Kappa Deltas and Girl Scouts can exchange stories about what community service we do and why we love helping our communities. President Obama’s formal call to volunteer action has been announced on this website: http://www.serve.gov.

The window of focus for this summer-service campaign is June 22 – Sept 11. This may be a great reason for troops to come together in the off-season! What an incredible opportunity for our troops to represent Girl Scouting as a prime vehicle for community volunteerism, and share their projects/events on serve.gov.
